How we report
We read the island's news outlets, public bodies, travel operators and open data several times a day, and write original reports in our own words. Every story is checked against its sources and against our legal and editorial rules before it is published. Read our editorial policy, our community guidelines and our privacy notice.
What makes us different
- Live island travel. Our Travel page puts the Steam Packet's sailings and the airport's arrivals and departures in one place, taken from the operators' own boards and checked every 30 seconds. Always check with your operator before you travel.
- We read the records. Every planning application, Companies Registry incorporation, Government notice and Ronaldsway Met Office forecast is read, summarised and published in plain English. Town-by-town forecast figures come from MET Norway.
- We show our sources. Every story links to the reporting and public records it was built from, so you can always check our work.
- We're Manx. Bilingual where it matters, with a Gaelg word of the day and the island's own place names.
Ownership and advertising
Adverts, including those for Isle Stays, are always labelled as advertisements and kept separate from our reporting. When a story involves Isle Stays or Isle Stays Ltd, we say so in the story. Advertise with us.
