A minute and a half · roll, then fly

Roll on, wise woman!

A sturdy old barrel is bowling down Slieau Whallian in the moonlight, and the cleverest wise woman on the hill is inside it. Steer her safely down to St John’s, and she’ll have the last laugh.

Press Start, then steer the barrel left and right.

Keyboard←→ or AD MoveSpace / ↑ / W RiseP / Esc PauseMouse: drag on the hill to steer, hold on the sky to rise

Drag on the hill, or use the arrows, to steer the barrel. Once she’s flying, touch and hold the sky (or Rise) to go up.

How to play

Steer, then soar.

  1. Steer the barrel. Use ← → or A and D, the arrow buttons, or drag on the hill. It speeds up as it goes.
  2. Miss the bumps. Rocks, gorse, tree stumps, sheep and stone walls each knock off an iron hoop. Aim for the gaps in the walls. If every hoop comes off, the barrel falls apart (she’s fine, just cross).
  3. Roll over herbs. Heather is worth a point and silvery Bollan Bane three. Every hoop still on at the bottom is worth five.
  4. Then away she flies! Hold Space, ↑, the Rise button or the sky to rise; let go to sink. Gather herbs low down and stars up high, and dodge crows and church spires until dawn. A bump only spills a couple of sprigs.

Gentle mode rolls slower, with wider gaps, five hoops and lower hills to fly over.

P or Escape pauses, and so does switching tab or scrolling away. Best scores stay on this device only, kept separately for each difficulty. Free to play: no account and no adverts.
