Surecode Software, a Ramsey company, has taken the Best Use of Technology prize at Business Awards UK’s 2026 Startup Innovation Awards, Isle of Man Today reported.
The firm was founded by brothers Darren and Adam Jones, both from the island. It also reached the final shortlist for Best B2B Startup.
Its software grew out of Fit Hub, the private gym Darren Jones operates on North Shore Road. In 2018 a system was built for the gym to take care of bookings, payments and door entry by itself. Customers could book a studio, then let themselves in with an individual code, with no member of staff needed on the premises.
The brothers believed firms in other fields had the same difficulties, so they turned the system into a product. They began selling it to other businesses in 2023. According to Isle of Man Today, Surecode now offers booking, payment and access control as a single package to clients throughout the UK.
Darren Jones said the team was “absolutely delighted” to win. The product, he said, had begun as “something we developed out of necessity for Fit Hub”. He added that he was proud an idea which started in Ramsey was now in use by businesses across the UK.
He described the company as “a small team with big ambitions”.
Surecode is still developing its software for businesses that take bookings for spaces, classes and appointments, Isle of Man Today reported.
