Golfers from across the island gathered at Peel Golf Club in September for a charity day in aid of Naseem’s Manx Brain Tumour Charity, Energy FM has reported.
The event, sponsored by homebuilder Dandara, saw 15 teams compete for prizes after a shotgun start. Trustees of the charity attended.
The charity was founded in 2009 in memory of island resident Naseem Pishvaie. It offers practical and financial help to Manx families affected by brain tumours and works to raise awareness and support research.
Dandara managing director Austin McGuire led a team from the developer. He said the day had “a great atmosphere on the course” and thanked everyone who took part and donated prizes.
Charity founder Gerry Pishvaie described the organisation as small and entirely run by volunteers. She said events like the golf day were important because “the money raised stays here in our community” and goes directly to local families.
Energy FM did not report how much was raised.
More information about the charity, including how to donate, is available at naseemsmanxbraintumourcharity.co.uk.
