Douglas Council is to spend £17,175 on a specialist contractor to carry out priority work on trees at Harcroft Meadow and on the local authority’s golf course.
The spending was approved by the council’s regeneration and community committee at its most recent meeting, according to 3FM.
Members were told that a backlog of tree work and inspections had built up because the council did not have enough staff, the station reported.
Councillors heard that bringing in an outside specialist would help bring that backlog down and free up the council’s parks staff.
The committee then voted to commit the £17,175 to the work judged most urgent.
3FM’s report did not say when the work will begin or how long it is expected to take.
