The outlet reported that the call reached Laxey fire station shortly after 14:00 on 10 October, and that crews brought the flames under control quickly.
A fire service spokesperson credited people nearby with keeping the incident small. The spokesperson said: “Due to the prompt actions by members of the public dialling 999 the fire was contained to a small area.”
