Walkers and pet owners are being asked to be careful in Ballaugh Plantation this week while forestry work takes place there, according to 3FM.

The appeal comes from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA). The station reported that department staff will be carrying out work at the plantation, in the north of the island, so that timber vehicles can get in and out more easily.

The work is due to start on Wednesday 14 October and finish on Friday 16 October.

Machinery and delivery vehicles will be working on the site over those three days. People using the plantation, including those out with pets, are being urged to stay alert while they are there, 3FM said.

3FM’s report did not say whether any paths or parts of the plantation would be closed while the work is under way.
