Customers around Cregneash and Port Erin may notice reduced coverage while new equipment is fitted, though landline and broadband services are unaffected.

Mobile users in the south of the island may have trouble getting a signal today (13 October) while Sure carries out upgrade work on its network, 3FM has reported.

According to the operator, the work involves fitting new equipment at one of its sites in Cregneash.

Sure said coverage could be weaker across the surrounding area, including Port Erin, while the installation is under way.

The company said landline and broadband services will not be affected.

3FM’s report did not give start or finish times for the work, or say how many customers might be affected. Sure customers in the south who rely on their mobiles may want to allow for patchy coverage through the day.
